Addiction/Recovery isnt easy. A message to the self proclaimed “experts” trying to tell you about suboxone and whats best for you.. … suboxone treatment detox opiates heroin methadone subutex oxycontin pill vicoden percoset oxycodone drugs meth rehab addict

Exactly! If youre living the life you want being healthy and doing what it takes to advance yourself then youre good! Whats better being clean but miserable, keeping to yourself, eating crap, feeling your guts churning from the inside out or taking a pill once a day and feeling fine?

Dont fool yourself pal.. Being clean has nothing to do with chemical blood levels, it has to do with the lifestyle of lying cheating and destroying your life aswell as others, this is what clean is. You can go try your little “100% opiate free” idea of clean, and see how far you last before relapsing.. Im cleaner than I ever was with meetings, period. I know Im clean so dont worry about it. People need to wake up, your not going to stay 100% clean, we’re addicts, suboxone is the real lifesaver

Hey all – I love this vid, too. But, honestly – right now I’m five days into opiate wd – a heavy user for a couple of years. I read a lot of web stuff and my brother is a doc.
Honestly, I swear, before I watched this video I thought to myself “god, I didn’t realize suboxone was so bad.”
The short term s*** s**** I admit, I’m living it right now. But,
I think we should try to do it without suboxone. My eyes are watery, am I spelling things right?
Still love the honest video.
peace

suboxene maintenance is good because it allows people who are held hostage by opiates to live their lives normally. Instead of having to get up everyday and worry about gettin straight they can go to work or do whatever they have to do. Also it allows time to change the repetitious behaviors they were practicing when gettin high
Comment by ScottNYC113 — August 18, 2009 @ 9:40 pm
I am the exact same way. Regardless of what THEY tell you to say, I am willing to admit to myself that I am powerless over opiates. Screw alll that NA stuff (although it can be beneficial), the truth is that I have NO CONTROL OVER MY ABILILITY TO SAY NO TO OPIATES (HEROIN IN PARTICULAR). So, that said, I just wanted to congratulate you for telling it lt like it is bro. I’m fortunate to have a small group of friends to BACK ME UP. A group of friends who understand what it’s about. john in Ia.

well said….you are as clean as you say you are…thats great..in the 12 step fellowship called N.A., its about complete abstinance from all drugs…including drugs perscribed by a doctor like sub and meth. thats how we do it in N.A….thats the very essence of the fellowship..no drugs..although we have a third tradition says all are welcome ..membership and participation are 2 diferrent tnings. I respect your position,, please respect N.A.,,good luck

Well said! You are not alone on your outlook on suboxone and life.
I myself have been on suboxone since February 2006 and still going strong. I live a normal life and can manage daily on just 1mg. If thats not clean, then I dont know what is.

Hey man, GREAT video! I’ve been on suboxone now since March 11th. And honestly for 2-3 weeks previous to my choice to start suboxone, I constantly watched positive videos on the TUBE, including yours. Yours, and others, videos, are what helped me realize suboxone was right for me! Taking suboxone is no different than taking antibiotics when were sick! Addicts are sick people, and we can only thank God he has given us such a great tool! God does miracles through other humans! ThankGOD4SUB!

Very well said. You are right on the money. Short term detox regimens have been shown in post clinical studies to be far less effective in maintaining sobriety than maintenance suboxone. The reason? Because if you aren’t taking the partial agonist/antagonist then you have just done a detox – no more effective than a short term inpatient stay at your local psych unit. People who go through rapid sub detox generally go use a few days later.

Anyone can get Clean. Anyone can detox, we all have. That is not the issue. Recovery is largely effected by the mental aspect and what we do to try and help that. Happiness is a core value, people who are negative and resentful are destine to relapse over and over, everyones Idea of recovery is different, we all need diff. things, suboxone, jesus, etc. But we are all equally addicted, and whatever the remedy, no one diserves to be criticized, like I said, detoxing aint shit, its after the detox.

Wow! I am in recovery, your little rant is opinion and pretty bland at that. Ive detoxed off suboxone and worse in the past thanks.. I help people buddy, and I stick up for those in recovery who ARE picked on my lower class thinkers as yourself, all because suboxone helps them more than “willpower” and Jesus.. Its none of your business if anyone needs suboxone. maybe you need some happiness in your life.. go spit your nonsense elsewhere, Ive accomplished plenty, thanks tho, stay “real” bud…
Comment by maple2609 — September 6, 2009 @ 4:51 am
Well, progress, not perfection. If you were in recovery, you would not care what others think of you. Put the camera down with the subs, wait 10 days and start filming. Then you will have accomplished something worth taping. It’s only fun to pull a pigs tail if it squeals. So quit squealin’ and people will stop pullin’. “As long as your happy” has nothing to do w/ sobriety. You got a helluva detox ahead of you. Just keepin’ it real. Oink, oink

Just remember, Tyler there are assholes everywhere. Let them think what they want. Both you and I know that suboxone has changed our lives for the better. It’s weird, ever since I’ve gotten sober my friends even try to shoot me down. They wouldn’t know what it like to be in recovery.
Comment by kiltcult3170 — September 16, 2009 @ 9:19 am
Read the buprenorphine studies guys… Long-term maintenance has shown decreased relapse and overall more stable recovery stats. The quick detox or even long detox methods land you at square-one leaving you wide open to use – while you haven’t been able to gain strength from groups and counseling that you have the opportunity to do while being maintained on the suboxone. Those on maintenance are following study recommendations.
